Dr. Angela Tarjick, DC
Dr. Angela was born and raised in upstate, NY. She attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and received a BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior. In August 2008, she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Magna Cum Laude honors and set out to move and begin her new career in Maryland.
Within the chiropractic field, Dr. Angela has developed a great desire to focus on Women and Children's Health and has pursued extra education and certifications in those areas. She is certified in the Webster Technique, which is a specific adjustment of the pregnant woman's pelvis that ensures the proper alignment and tension of the pelvic structure in order to make the intrauterine environment favorable for the developing baby. This leads to a safer, healthier labor and delivery with fewer interventions. Dr. Angela is also in the final stages of receiving a Pediatric Certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. This is a 180-hour certification program that covers the specific diagnosis and adjusting techniques for the pregnant woman, newborn and infant through adolescent. With this training, she has access to a wealth of information regarding common childhood illnesses and neuro-developmental conditions and the alternative treatments that are now available to parents.
Of special note, Dr. Angela is a Hope for Autism doctor, which means she holds a certification in the bio-nutritional care of individuals on the spectrum. It is a pleasure for her to present options of alternative care to parents and patients who might otherwise have none. Dr. Angela is, above all else, a proud mother and military spouse. Nothing brings her more pride than her husband, Matt (an Army Major, currently stationed at Ft. Meade), and two children, Ashley and Justin. She has been active in the military community for more than a decade now and looks forward to finding new ways to support the military families in the Maryland/DC area. At Fort Bragg, she was presented with the prestigious Dr. Mary E. Walker Award for her dedication and support of the soldiers and their families in the 1/505th PIR Aide Station, where her husband was the platoon leader. The Dr. Mary E. Walker Award is presented to Army spouses whose achievements and performance merit special recognition.
Dr. Angela looks forward to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals.

Her favorite season is football season, and she loves cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide!). She is an avid animal lover and has a furry little cat named Calypso. Hello! My name is Emily! I am from a little town in Rhode Island and a Dog/Cat Mom to a Mini Goldendoodle named Percy & a Maine Coon Orange Tabby named Sarg, and they just always know how to cheer anyone up! I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in high school at the age of 16. I then made the big move to move to Baltimore at 17 years old when I started Nursing school at Notre Dame of Maryland University. I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, the hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care facilities and more. I also have many years of experience with all different types of patients from infant to geriatrics. I found myself at EIH, with a newfound passion for Functional and Holistic Medicine. I am happy to work alongside great Chiropractors and Nursing Practitioners while I begin my journey as a Registered Nurse, but most importantly I am excited to welcome existing and new patients to the office. Trust me, between the great staff, the providers, and the approach to your health, you won't regret coming in!
Front Desk Manager and Medical Assistant
Hello my name is Rachel! I graduated from Chesapeake High School in 2003 and have lived in Pasadena, MD all my life. Growing up I played soccer year round until my senior year. This was when I began my career in the medical field of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine working alongside my mother for 2 different practices. I began in the medical records department. In 2005 I advanced my experience by beginning my journey into the field of Dermatology as a Front Office Receptionist. In 2007 I was given the opportunity by my current employer to excel into the position of a medical assistant. This new position was a life changing challenge since I worked as the hands of a doctor who was quadriplegic due to the advances of his Multiple Sclerosis. I learned how to execute procedures that are traditionally only performed by a licensed medical doctor. This doctor pushed me every day with quizzes pertaining to the diagnoses of rashes, growths and other skin conditions patients had as well as the recommended treatment. In 2012 I went back to school at the recommendation from my employer to become a certified medical assistant. In 2013 I graduated at the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA from TESST College, receiving the highest score (equivalent to an ‘A’) for the national certification exam for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. As a medical assistant I learned the positive effect I can have on a patient any given day. From a friendly smile, listening to them explain their chief complaint, to giving reassurance when I delivered their final results. Even though I love the specialty I ended the 12 year career in dermatology to expand my medical knowledge. I look forward to every day since joining Effective Integrative Healthcare. I love that we are encouraged to form personal relationships with our patients. As well as contributing in the process of patients feeling their absolute worse to being able to return to their everyday activities without pain and maintain that feeling. At EIH my knowledge has expanded since we are not just a chiropractic office, but instead an Integrative practice. I can honestly say my overall health has improved from the multiple services offered and if you give this practice the chance you will feel the same way!
